ParticipantHello,
I believe it’s a bug. I have lots of entries with links to the images.
Synching those links once works perfectly. However, sometimes images are changing.
To process the issue quickly through my workflow, I handle it by removing the content of the entire column and copying and pasting from another sheet with all links to the images on the server.
This is fast, instead of filtering or searching the correct rows and removing the “OK” from the synch column. The issue here is that the plugin isn’t reconnecting the existing images with the IDs, but reuploading a new version of the image with a suffix of “-1”.
This shouldn’t be the case.
I hope this can be resolved quickly. 😛Regards

ParticipantOr in other words.
If I try to synch the same link of the image, the plugin is creating a copy with a suffix of “-1”.
Redoing it is incrementing the number.April 18, 2022 at 3:50 am #136809nmedia
KeymasterHi,
You mean if you want to sync(import) images with ID instead URL it is not attaching to product?

ParticipantNo.
If I add a link to the image which is already in the media, the synch reuploads the image instead of only getting the image ID and connecting to the product ID.

KeymasterYou,
need to add the ID of the existing image, the URL means new image everytime.

ParticipantI would like to ask for a feature request.
If the image already exists and is only used once in the shop system, no new image will be created, but the existing overwritten.
Especially if someone starts a new shop, the content is being adjusted constantly. If I have to remove manually the image from the media library and then switch to the spreadsheet and add the same link, which points to a cloud source, again, this would make the add image through link option obsolete for someone who wants a gsheet system, to quickly adjust even minor changes on the images.
Are there plans to improve the way how images are added?
Maybe a way, to set in the settings sheet, how images are processed?Regards

KeymasterOk I see.
Well, currently when new images need to link it must be created via links (public URLs) under images columns. And If you want to link existing images to the product then you need to set IDs of images (attachment IDs).
And when image is linked via URL, after the product is synced in-store, the images columns are replaced with IDs instead of URLs.
And yes we have a plan to make it better like creating different sheets for single columns updates.

ParticipantYes, a single-column update would be great.
I guess, also to speed up the synch.I look forward to seeing the plugin handling the images with more flexibility.
Regards
