I have entered some extra metadata in my column. (weight, length, width and height)_length _width _height _weight) so when I enter something there on google sheet it comes up nicely in my website.
But if I enter that data from my website it does not end up in the google sheet.
and if I click on fetch product in my google sheet then the previously entered products disappear._length _width _height _weight all other meta such as price and product information that remains. So either I have a mistake in the metadata. it only makes sure that sheet can go to website or the website doesn’t want to send extra data from the webshop to google sheet except the standard data.
please help with this . i am using the pro version

June 29, 2022 at 12:51 pm #141366nmediaKeymasterHi,
please watch this video and follow all steps
1. Adding meta columns
June 29, 2022 at 3:15 pm #141370i. akkouhParticipantYes I did
but google sheet wants to retrieve the meta date like weight length and width which are already on the website.vice versa does work. if i enter on google sheet metadate then it comes in the website. But if I then click on Fetch products. then the previously entered data is gone again. could I give you the details of the website and forward the link to you hopefully you can find the cause.

Also, it’s unclear how to specify the meta keys.
July 1, 2022 at 11:52 pm #141425i. akkouhParticipantwhen i update a product in the webshop i get the message”:
Error while updating Googl Sheet.Does anyone have the solution ?

weight = good
_weight = wrongdon’t forget to adjust it in your google sheet but also at woocommerce setting -sync- Meta Keys
July 2, 2022 at 1:08 am #141427David BraunParticipantHey i. akkouh,
Thanks for the feedback!
weight works as is without adding in the Meta Keys area.
length, width, height, for example, do not. Even when adding in those names in the Meta Keys area.
Dave
July 2, 2022 at 5:59 am #141430nmediaKeymasterfor length and height, the key name is
dimensions
July 2, 2022 at 10:19 am #141431i. akkouhParticipantbest,
i have entered {dimensions} in the column for ( sync) then woocommerce- settings-sync. and there at {include meta keys} also entered dimensions and still it won’t retrieve the data.July 2, 2022 at 12:02 pm #141432i. akkouhParticipantDear David,
the info I gave you earlier was not correct. I thought I had the solution but no it was not unfortunately.
July 2, 2022 at 3:18 pm #141444nmediaKeymasterIt is not the meta key, you don’t need to add an inside meta key, just add the column
dimensions
. Like this http://tinyurl.com/25fu3ykkJuly 2, 2022 at 3:45 pm #141447David BraunParticipantOk, thanks! I finally got it! It finally clicked in my brain.
(1) Use the product properties from here: https://woocommerce.github.io/woocommerce-rest-api-docs/#product-properties.
(2) If you have other meta data, the easiest way to figure out what the name of that data is, is to export all product information to a CSV. The columns then will be labeled “Meta: [key]” so for example, “Meta: _yoast_wpseo_primary_product_cat”.
(3) Then add the [key] to your google sheet as a separate column AND add it to the “Include Meta Keys” field in WooCommerce->Settings-Google Sync tab. For my example, add “_yoast_wpseo_primary_product_cat” as a column heading and add it in the Google Sync tab Include Meta Keys field.
(4) Run your export or sync as normal.
July 2, 2022 at 7:42 pm #141452i. akkouhParticipantRight David, now it works! and that list is super handy!
Thanks a lot and this will really help a lot of people. And the plugin creators can also thank you because now I am satisfied with the plugin 😉
.
yet an off topic question for the support desk.
Do you have an idea how to organize those products a bit. by categories or separate tabs.i have a lot of products and everything is mixed up now.
July 2, 2022 at 10:20 pm #141454David BraunParticipantWelcome! Yeah, I am actually going to put our own documentation together because we have several ecommerce stores and I think this may be a plugin everyone will want.
For organizing products, we normally use Categories. We have one store with alot of products and we have categories like this
(1) Price range….the client wanted to display them in a particular range, so we categories like
Under $25
$25-$50
$50-$75(2) Product type. So we have a category called “Bags” and then subcategories of
Accessory Bags
Backpacks
Computer Bags(3) Cause. So we have a category called “Cause” and then subcategories of
Education
Sustainability
Women’s empowerment(4) Where they were made. So we have a category called “Handmade in” and subs of
Gautemala
Haiti
IndiaAnd lots more.
Think about how one of your client’s customers would want to search for things.
Hope that helps!
July 5, 2022 at 6:46 am #141470nmediaKeymasterHi there,
Thanks for loving Google Sync and supporting it. We are adding more features in this plugin to make it more powerful so the store admin can control inventories, categories and even the Orders with Google sync in few click
